Description | Job Title: Technology Coordinator
Department: Technology
Education Level and Certification: Bachelor's degree or higher required. Must possess at all times during employment a Nebraska Teaching Certificate with such endorsements as required by NDE Rule 10. Degree in Instructional Technology and knowledge of network infrastructure would be ideal but not required. Experience in a school’s one-to-one device setting preferred.

Performance Responsibilities and Job Task:
The primary responsibility of the Technology Coordinator is to ensure high user interaction with technology by continuously improving infrastructure and simplifying the user experience in a 1:1 setting. Under the general direction of the Director of Technology, the Technology Coordinator will utilize district provided tools and their expertise to achieve this responsibility.
Job Responsibilities and Roles:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
- Diagnose and repair devices such as laptops, tablets, printers, and projectors.
- Ensure timely and effective resolution of technical problems to minimize instructional disruptions.
- Maintain and update school technology assets, including inventory tracking and life-cycle management.
- Develop and implement strategies to address recurring technical challenges.
- Promote a culture of critical thinking and resourcefulness when approaching technology-related problems.
- Stay updated on emerging educational technologies and recommend solutions that align with school goals.
- Work closely with school leadership to align technology initiatives with the institution's mission and objectives.
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents regarding technology policies and updates.
- Experience with Mobile Device Management (MDM) software to enhance the 1:1 technology workflow and improve instructional outcomes.
- Develop/establish procedures and guidelines to ensure that all administrative decisions are necessary to the proper functioning of the school district’s technology system.
- Keep current with federal and state laws impacting the school district’s technology system and operations, as well as proposed legislation impacting technology system and operations, by attending conferences and other professional development activities.
- Build strong relationships with teachers, technology staff and administrators to enhance technology integration in every classroom as it relates to the district-aligned goals.
- Support staff and students with the use of technology as well as understanding accommodations for special needs as it relates to technology, assist in the evaluation and selection of instructional software.
- Participate in meetings with administrative and teacher teams concerning technology as it relates to classroom instruction.
- Create an articulated schedule to share with administrators.
- Maintain directly or through delegation such personnel, student, business, and other records related to the technology system and operations that are required by law or by board policy. Serve as the custodian for such school records.
- Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and district rules.
- Adhere to the code of ethics of the district. The technology coordinator must serve as a positive role model for staff and students.
- Submit a report of anticipated technology needs and enhancements annually to the assistant superintendent-business.
- Perform other tasks or duties as assigned by the board, superintendent and/or director of technology.

- Professional exemption: The employee has a primary duty of performing work requiring knowledge of an advanced type in a field of science or learning customarily acquired by a prolonged course of specialized intellectual instruction and study or has a primary duty of teaching, tutoring, instructing, or lecturing in the activity of imparting knowledge and is employed and engaged in this activity as a teacher.
- Executive exemption: The primary duty of the employee is the management of a department or subdivision. The employee customarily and regularly directs the work of two or more other employees and has authority to hire or fire other employees or the employee’s recommendations as to hiring, firing, promotion, or other change of status of other employees are given particular weight.
- Administrative exemption: The employee has the primary duty of performing office or non-manual work directly related to the management of general business operations of the school district. The employee customarily and regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment or has a primary duty of performing administrative functions directly related to academic instruction or training in the school district or a department or subdivision.
